Requirements to become a member:

Any organisation managing an international wine and spirit competition (adhering to all criteria of such competitions) as owner or administrator, and empowered to make decisions concerning promotional activities, can become a member of the Federation. As member of the Federation, a competition will have two representatives on the board of directors, one official representative and one substitute representative. However, each member will have the right to only one vote.
The Federation’s general meeting will rule on membership requests by a vote of extraordinary majority*. Members can be opposed to another competition gaining membership if this latter takes place in their own country.

Before becoming a member, each candidate will have to join the Federation’s Charter and accept to respect all its rules.

An application for new membership will have to be proposed by the Secretary General or any other member during the meeting. Applications will have to come with a detailed presentation in order to verify conformity to the Federation’s criteria as well as adherence to all rules listed in the Charter.

Approval could be subject to membership fees.

Exclusion of a member:

A member can lose its membership if three quarters of the members in assembly vote that way. Furthermore, satisfying all international wine and spirit competition criteria listed in article 1 does not necessarily mean that the Federation will approve membership.
Membership can be terminated if the Charter or its rules are not respected or if one of the predetermined criteria mentioned in article 1 ceases to exist.

Final exclusion will be determined by a vote of extraordinary majority* during the general meeting.

* Extraordinary majority consists of two thirds of the members present or represented, requiring a quorum of at least three quarters of the members.
